After a tour of various project sites in Ogun East and Ogun Central Senatorial Districts, Adekunle and Permanent Secretaries rated the projects, including roads and model school buildings, high and said they are capable of changing the fortunes of the Gateway state.
The head of service said the level and quality of work done so far were over 80 percent and expressed satisfaction at the pace of work at the various sites.
She was optimistic that all the projects would soon be completed to serve the interest of the people, whose taxes according her, are being justifiably spent by the government.
At the sites of the model schools at Ogijo and Ago-Iwoye, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Alhaji Ambali Ishola said they were of international standard and each is expected to accommodate a total of 1,500 students at the end of six years.
He stated that the schools would provide day and boarding facilities and opportunities, adding that the intention was to provide a solid and qualitative education to children within the area and the state at large.
Assessing the roads and fly-over bridges on Oba- Erinwole Road, Sagamu and Ijebu-Ode, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, Mr Kayode Ademolake explained that the bridges were necessary to ease traffic congestion and reduce accidents, especially at the Ijebu-Ode/ Benin expressway junction.
He added that the 25km Ilishan/ Ago-Iwoye Road would reduce the high rate of accidents along the road, noting that the roads are expected to last at least 50 years, which, according to him “is the life span of any concrete work.”
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Strategy, Alhaji Abdul-Fatai Opebiyi said he was impressed with the quality of work done across the state, adding that he was in a good position to assess the present administration, having worked with many governors in the state.
Governor Amosun had, while addressing the top civil servants before they embarked on the tour, charged them to continue to support his administration, describing the civil service as the engine room of government.
