Oh dear American Appreal are at it again, this time using this up-the-skirt-shot to try and sell mini skirts. We can't even........
The retailer has been in endless trouble with their controversial adverts showing young girls in sleazy sexual situations, with several ads being banned in the UK for exactly that.
But this isn't just a perverted up-skirt photo - it is also the cry of a company in decline.
According to Bloomberg, the basicswear brand is in trouble after posting three straight quarterly losses and having tumbling sales.
"American Apparel hasn't done a whole lot of innovation, and in the meantime a lot of retailers have incorporated the clean, simple look it became known for", Craig Johnson, president of Customer Growth Partners consulting firm explained to Bloomberg. "Time has marched on."
Translation: We can now get hoodies in every colour of the rainbow across the high street without giving our cash to a company hell bent on using perverted advertising.
However, what's even more annoying, is that the company have really good environmental ethics, unlike many of their high street competitors - as this Twitter user notes:
Surely that would be a better advertising focus for the brand than this?
